Forty years is a long time. Many have changed. Many have started out their own businesses and many other businesses have closed or run out of funds to run it. However, there are still others that remain strong and remain at the top. One of these is Edmunds.com, one of the most respected sources of information on used cars, new vehicles, and automotive information.

Edmunds.com is celebrating their fortieth year in the business and as part of the whole deal, they are out to make reviews on the vehicles and cars that took great significance during their forty years in the business. For Karl Brauer, "The automotive industry and its products are dramatically different than they were when our company was founded in 1966. This milestone gives us a chance to reflect on the highlights of days gone by."

Classic cars enthusiasts would surely be loving this. Primarily this is because when cars get out of style and when the cars are no longer in production, auto companies start to stop producing stuff for such models. Good thing, there are still good sources of information and outdated parts and accessories like Oldsmobile restoration parts in the market.

Companies like this make sure that old and classic vehicles are not entirely forgotten and these cars could still be alive and kicking.

There are many definitions as per what a classic car should be. However, one of the main things that make a car a classic is that it is one-of-a-kind and is not so common anymore. Looking back and reading on classic cars is just like reliving the days when these cars were still roaming the streets and roads. It also gives a chance for the new generation to get to know the kind of cars and vehicles that used to own the highways in cities and countries.

AMERICUS, GA (ContentDesk) August 1, 2005 -? Steering more low-income families toward local affordable homeownership opportunities, Habitat for Humanity is launching its nationwide "Cars for Homes?" vehicle donation program. Cars for Homes? takes donated cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, RVs and other vehicles and sells them through automobile auctions, recyclers or salvage yards to raise funds that help build simple, decent homes. Funds generated from vehicle sales benefit the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate and community where the donation is made. Habitat began its Cars for Homes? program in the fall of 2003 in the Seattle area. Since that time, car donations have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars that ultimately help build homes in partnership with low-income families."We are excited to expand Habitat's Cars for Homes? program across the country," said Marcia Rundle, Cars for Homes? general manager.

"It provides a hassle-free and easy way to give to Habitat. Anyone can help provide affordable housing within their own community by donating vehicles they aren't using or are ready to sell or trade-in."Donors can call the Cars for Homes? toll-free number or process their car donation online. Donor contact, title and vehicle information is collected and, upon acceptance of the donation, arrangements are made for the vehicle, keys and title to be picked up for processing. Habitat for Humanity receives between 70 and 80 percent of the sales proceeds after towing fees and other expenses. Donors receive an acknowledgement letter for their car donation and can check with the Internal Revenue Service or their tax advisor for information on the tax deductibility of their donation.More information on how to donate a car, truck, boat, RV or other vehicle to help eliminate substandard housing can be obtained by calling Habitat for Humanity Cars for Homes? at 1-877-277-HFHI (4344) toll free, or at http://www.carsforhomes.org.About Cars for Homes?Cars for Homes? is Habitat for Humanity's national program that provides donors a quick and easy process for donating cars, trucks, boats, RVs and other vehicles to help build homes in partnership with local low-income families in need of decent, affordable shelter.

www.carsforhomes.orgAbout Habitat for Humanity Habitat for Humanity International, based in Americus, Ga., is an ecumenical Christian ministry dedicated to eliminating poverty housing. The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum would be holding their very first Annual Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum Benefit Extravaganza and as part of this event, the museum would be actually having a live automobile auction. In fact, automobiles that would be auctioned off during the mentioned event would include a 1936 Cord 810 Westchester Sedan. If you are interested, you can bid for that vehicle or you also can bid for a 1929 Chrysler Imperial Roadster. These are the two new vehicles which have been added to the list of vehicles to be auctioned off.

These classic vehicles that would be auctioned off are actually considered to be quite unique in their own ways.

In fact, the 1936 Cord 210 Westchester Sedan is one of the 401 units that have been produced with a bustle trunk. And the chances of finding the other 400 are quite slim especially if the units have not been maintained well. As per the Chrysler Imperial Roadster 1929 model, this classic car has a Locke body and has been a Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) and an Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) senior winner.

Proceeds for the mentioned auction would be going to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum. If you are interested, you would have to shell out $100 per person for tickets.

This would be an event that you would not want to pass you by especially if you are a lover of classic cars.

Aside from the two mentioned vehicles that would be auctioned off, you also could opt to bid for a 1930 Auburn Speedster which has gone through a body-off restoration. There also would be a 1976 Cadillac El Dorado Bicentennial Convertible that is quite in good shape with only 32 miles in its odometer.

When maintaining classic cars, it is quite difficult to find parts for it. However, for Oldsmobile parts and Plymouth parts, you can find these at Auto Parts Corner and you can be assured that they are durable and has a very low price tag attached to it.

Collectible cars top the list of collectibles. Ever since the advent of cars, there has been a craving in many a heart to own a cool, fast, trendy, classic or sporty car. Cars speak a language of their own and its owner needn't speak a word. Above their monetary value, the collectible cars you possess can get you applause from far and near.

The latest technology in the mechanical field and the creativity of car manufacturers has given cars a new definition. Changes have been made, from the seats to the tires to colors to the dashboard.

There are luxury cars, sports cars, two seaters, trucks, jeeps and even the new solar cars that haunt the collectors' dreams.

Though there are large varieties of cars available on the market, demand persists for rare and classic cars that are no longer in production. The key points that you have to keep in mind before you buy a classic car is the year of manufacture, its make (which company has manufactured it), the model, its mileage and then its price.

Car collectors usually try to get classic cars from auctioneers. You could get preowned cars with warranty, financing and shipping as well. Cars manufactured in the 1930's, like the 1933 Ford 5-Window and the 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe tempt the collectors to put their hands on them.

There are various companies that are present in the car collectibles list like Cadillac, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Chevrolet, and Lincoln, to name only a few. Ford is one of the most famous companies that provide many of the classic cars.

Its collection includes Thunderbird, Custom, 5 Window, and 5 Window coupes, Mustang, and more. Many of its models are convertibles, in which you can change some of the designs and get new designs in place of old ones. Its price tag starts from $16,500 and can top hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Jaguar and Rolls Royce also have a few rare classic models that are real pieces of pride for their owners. Though the collectible cars are highly priced, the pride that they bring is worth every penny. These hot pieces are priced anything from $4,995 to infinity.

There are various Internet sites and many special outlets where these cars are put up for sale..

(ContentDesk) September 23, 2005 -- "Consumers are buying hybrid cars," reports NBC news correspondent, Anne Thompson. "Some because of high gas prices, others because hybrids are kinder to the environment. Either way, Americans are getting into hybrids."With gas prices setting all-time records and rapidly approaching $3/gallon in many US cities, motorists are outraged and looking for some relief. Though reluctant to embrace hybrid cars because of their higher price and relative short time on the market, these new breed of autos may be the best solution to the surging gas prices dilemma. However, are they all they are proposed to be? Are they getting better mileage than conventional cars? How do they work and do they need to be recharged? These and many other questions are still on the minds of those who are hesitant to take the plunge and venture into territory unknown.Andy Grant and Taylor Reid, authors of the eBook, All About Hybrid Cars: Maximum Performance/Minimum Impact, saw the compelling need for education on hybrid cars, so they wrote the book and launched the companion Website: http://www.AllAboutHybridCars.com."We ran a study and saw there was a tremendous demand for information on hybrid cars, but very little out there to educate consumers," said Reid, an Internet marketing consultant. So she partnered with Grant, a professional writer and award-winning author.

"I had to do a lot of research, because there was no one place that had all the facts," Grant said. "We wanted to provide clear, current information that anyone who was curious about hybrid cars could understand."In their eBook, they explain that increased fuel economy is one of the primary benefits of purchasing a hybrid car. With continually escalating gas prices, hybrid cars seem like a sure antidote. "Along with better mileage and lower gasoline costs comes another savings in the form of tax rebates," Reid said. The new federal energy bill recently signed into law by President Bush encourages the use of fuel-efficient, low-emission vehicles and offers substantial tax breaks. A report by the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy indicates that the bill states that high-efficiency vehicles, either hybrid or diesel, will receive credits on a sliding scale based on efficiency; the maximum credit for light-duty vehicles is expected to be about $3,400 for Prius-level performance."We put a calculator on our Website," said Grant, "so potential hybrid car owners could estimate the total savings if they bought an [hybrid-electric vehicle] HEV, since the car costs more, but the savings in gas is substantial." The calculator and a comparison chart of all the current hybrid cars can be found at http://www.allabouthybridcars.com/comparison-chart.htm."I don't think there's any other chart like this available," Reid said.

"Any time a new hybrid car comes on the market, we add it to the mix. This way, Website visitors can quickly compare one model to the other."Although the initial cost of buying a hybrid car over a traditional one is higher, the long-term savings will depend on how long the consumer keeps the car and what kind of actual mileage is achieved.Phil Reed, consumer advice editor at Edmunds.com suggests, "Anyone shopping for a car now should make the question of fuel economy a big issue, because the availability of oil in the future is uncertain. Don't buy a car thinking it's acceptable today; one day it could be your hedge against high fuel costs."For an introduction to the basic facts about hybrid cars, Reid and Grant offer the free report: "7 Critical Facts Everyone Should Know Before Buying a Hybrid Car." To order the report, go to: http://www.AllAboutHybridCars.com/eBook.htm..

"We seek to provide people with the ultimate automotive experience. Members have access to a continually updated stable of vehicles custom tailored to their desires. Gone are their headaches from maintenance, cleaning, storing, payments, and the like. They can drive what they want, when they want ? with no worries."

This is a statement uttered by Keith Wolters. Wolters is the manager of the Premier Car Club in New England.

And this car club is offering a fine ride for those interested in fine automobiles. And when talking about fine vehicles, it means that these are often those that are considered as exotic cars and are quite hard to own for it means you would have to spend a huge amount just to own one. And it does not mean just any car that could hold Mercury auto parts and the like. Wolters is simply referring to those vehicles that are quite on the high end. These include luxury cars, and classic vehicles.

The club's director for member services, Steve Lospennato, further adds, "We want our members to enjoy the vehicles and have a great time. After all, these cars should be all about fun. Unfortunately, the fun factor is often lost amidst the woes of traditional ownership. We eliminate the woes and enhance the fun." This is even backed up by Wolter's words, "Membership in the club provides unfettered access to a series of cars, each of which will enhance any experience."

The club has a place they call the "Clubhouse" where they call can converge and meet. The setting is defined with nostalgia of automobiles and vehicles all gone by.

And it is located in a facility that gives the members the chance to use HD televisions, games, pinball, and other activities. And when the members do not feel like driving an exotic vehicle, they can simply browse through the club's collection of vehicles for these are displayed for everybody to see while they are not being driven through the streets.

At present, the club holds a variety of exotic and classic vehicles. The collection now includes a 2005 Lamborghini Gallardo coupe. There also is a 1966 Corvette Roadster, a 355 Ferrari Spider, and a 2005 Dodge Viper.

Ever since the first car was produced, it's been an art object as well as a practical device. We love to look at all sorts of cars. We care about our own cars and we are very aware of what they say about us and our tastes. A red sports car makes a very different statement from a gray van. Why do we spend so much time and money keeping up the finish of our cars? Again, it's an artistic matter, perhaps a combination of pride of ownership with the knowledge that people somehow identify us with what we drive around in.Car art isn't limited to just the cars themselves.

There are many forms of art that use cars. Whether or not you consider advertising an art form or a nuisance, the many ads for cars -- or for other things but using cars in them -- are a significant part of the history of car art.Another form of car art is movies. Films use cars in them, to further the plot of course, but also to make statements about who the characters are. A lot of the wild rides you can enjoy vicariously in a movie or TV show would not be fun in person! Well, they might be, but they are beyond the reach of most people.Paintings and photographs of cars are another realm that people have devoted themselves to. You can most easily own some of these through the wide selection of car posters available.

If you love the elegant lines of a Lamborghini or Porsche, you can have one on your walls if not parked in your garage. Car posters cover many topics. As well as celebrating rare and expensive cars, there are posters that offer a humorous look at our culture, that show great moments in car racing, that outline the history of the Mustang or other cars, that reflect the Art Deco look of bygone times, that show good-looking celebrities standing by a car, and much more..
